About Our Mission

Amaravati Amma, now 74, has lovingly cultivated her farmland in Pallangi, Kodaikanal, for 57 years. But mounting debt and market hardships now threaten her to the point of selling the land she’s built her life on.

We refuse to let that happen.

Café Nirvana is our dream — and hers. Together, we are transforming this small mountain farm into a regenerative café, a permaculture learning space, and a sustainable income source — built on Amma's legacy and love for the land.

The view from our café location - let's build a dream here

A group of concerned professionals, volunteers, and students from nearby colleges came together to support her. Their goal: to turn her farm into a self-sustaining, regenerative system that also generates income and respect.

Café Nirvana is that vision in motion — a place where the past and future of farming come together.

Our mission is simple:

  • Help marginal farmers become self-reliant through modern tools and direct-to-market channels.

  • Cut out costly middlemen.

  • Create income streams through cafés, tours, and seed-saving.

  • Offer a replicable model that other changemakers can adopt.

Amma’s journey is just the beginning.
